MRI volume navigation adds accuracy to second-look breast ultrasound and ultrasound guided biopsy

In patients with cancer, MRI is known to reveal additional cancers that are occult on mammography or ultrasonography However, because of its relatively low specificity MRI may change the treatment management and patient experience. Second-look US with V Nav can be effective in detecting a large number of additional breast lesions occult at second-look US and to biopsy a significant number of malignant lesions safely and irrespective of location. Join us for this 1 hour workshops to learn more about the value of Volume Navigation in breast and the step by step method of performing it.

Breast Elastography: The new color doppler for breast lesion characterization?

Breast ultrasound elastography is an emerging sonographic imaging technique which provides information on breast lesions in addition to conventional ultrasonography (US) and mammography. Ultrasound elastography provides a non-invasive evaluation of a the “stiffness” of a lesion. It increases the specificity of conventional B-mode ultrasound by more precise characterization of breast lesions. Join us for this 1 hour workshop to learn about the interpretation of strain and shearwave elastorgraphy and the tips and trick to perform it.

Value of CEM with microcalcifications, how CEM can improve PPV of biopsy.

The use of contrast-enhanced mammography (CEM) in evaluating microcalcifications is an emerging area of breast imaging. While digital mammography is excellent at detecting microcalcifications, morphological descriptors are not specific enough to predict the absence of malignancy. Combining morphological descriptors and enhancement can provide a better assessment of the risk of malignancy and help reduce the number of unnecessary biopsies in microcalcificacion .

Implementing CEM & CEM Biopsy in One Stop Clinic environment

CEM as a functional imaging tool provides essential information within the context of the “One Stop Clinic” during the initial diagnostic process. This information allows for the performance of invasive diagnostic procedures during the initial evaluation, thereby improving the initial local-regional staging, reducing the number of hospital visits, and decreasing the anxiety and uncertainty for women with suspected cancer.

Improving neo-adjuvant patients’ workflow: CEM coupled with non-wire probe-guided surgical marker navigation system

Neoadjuvant therapy (NAT) has become more prevalent in early-stage breast cancer, offering advantages such as tumour reduction, enhanced surgical outcomes, and the ability to assess treatment effectiveness. Advances in imaging methods like MRI and contrast-enhanced mammography (CEM) have improved the ability to predict treatment outcomes and evaluate residual disease. Non-wire technologies are employed to mark tumour sites for surgery following NAT, although each method has certain limitations, particularly concerning MRI compatibility. CEM is gaining recognition as a viable alternative for tracking tumour response to NAT, especially in conjunction with localisation technologies like Sirius Pintuition.
